[Samba] password sync

I'm trying to sync. passwords in both ldap and passwd file at the same 
time. FreeBSD 5.3. here's the syntax I'm using.

 ldap password sync = Yes
 unix password sync = Yes
 passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
this seems to work for ldap passwords just fine, for both unix and smb 
attributes, but I'm missing something to update the local unix passwords 
as well.
