Getting this on a FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE #0: Sat Aug 28 11:56:25 CDT 2004 system when trying to start the smbd process after an upgrade to the newest release. Didn't see anything helpful in the referenced appendix bugs of the Samba HOWTO collection.
