Hi folks, Intermittenly samba hangs and will not allow any more connections from any client regardless your OS. Looking at the samba.log file and errors in it, I wasn't able to determine what is the real and what's not, could not really find anything here eaither that would tell me what could be cause of this behaviour. examples from samba.log file, not sure, though, that these would indicate what real problem is. set_delete_on_close_internal: failed to change delete on close flag for file lib/util_sock.c:get_socket_addr(1012) getpeername failed. Error was Transport endpoint is not connected
on a server ps -ef |grep smb shows active processes, also nmbd daemon's running. the intermittent solution has been to stop samba, make sure all smb/nmb processes are gone and restart samba running /etc/init.d/samba start ./smbd -V Version 2.2.8a SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-27 smb.conf # Global parameters [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP security = SERVER password server = pdc-server log file = /opt/httpd/logs/samba/samba.log os level = 0 local master = No browse list = No wins server = (ip-address removed for security reasons) [homes] comment = User Home Directories writeable = Yes create mask = 0664 directory mask = 0775 [CEC-dev] comment = Development htdocs path = /opt/httpd/wwwin/htdocs writeable = Yes create mask = 0775 directory mask = 02775 [cgi-bin] comment = CGI executables path = /opt/httpd/wwwin/cgi-bin writeable = Yes Thanks for your help in advance!
