You should also consider the character-set/encoding of your tty to be ISO8859-15.

Hello, For your characters problems, try in the global section of your smb.conf : display charset = ISO8859-15 (this value is for Western Europe (France), use an appropriated one) unix charset = the value of the default system charset (for more precisions, man smb.conf) Restart samba and this should work.
