This is not a question of seeing the other pc. if the pc's dont have file/printer sharing installed you wil NEVER see the other pc, bij network browsing.
Are you able to ping to the other pc, first by IP then try it bij HOSTNAME if hostname does not work, its a wins/dns problem. i use dhcp3 + ddns (bind9) + samba with Be a wins server, in the smb.conf config dns proxy = yes Louis >-----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- >Van: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Namens Doug VanLeuven >Verzonden: vrijdag 12 augustus 2005 3:53 >Aan: Robin Bowes >CC: samba@lists.samba.org >Onderwerp: Re: [Samba] Cross-subnet browsing...AGAIN!!! > >Robin Bowes wrote: > >> If I browse to My Network Places\Microsoft Windows >Network\Home on each >> of the XP machines, here's what I see under Home on each machine: >> >> Tosh2: Tosh2 >> All shares on Dude under My Network Places >> Batmobile: Batmobile, Dude >> Tosh: Batmobile, Dude >> Some shares on Dude under My Network Places >> Some shares on Batmobile under My Network Places >> >> What I don't understand is: >> >> 1.
