removed the profile dir from the server and the workstation changed mod 777 to /profiles it all failed. when i turn acls off, i get the message tht the user does not have the correct security settings for the folder. which is what the documentation implied. would happen with xp clients running all the latest patches and service packs. changing acls back on enabled me to download and save the profile on one system only.
