Hello,
I recently upgraded to samba 3.0.20a (from samba-2.2.8a) and one of our
users has the following problem.
We have a file with the contents latin1 encoded. When the 2.2.8a was
running this was also so. (The file gets dumped from a database)
The user then copies the file between two samba servers. And then he
sends it by mail.
For one or the other reason the file he then sends by mail was in cp850
encoding. But with the upgrade this isn't so.
I honestly think that samba doesn't mangle with the contents of files.
And it must be a client issue. It could be a our side but also at the
side that receives the mail.
(our smb.conf doesn't not have any codepages entries)
Can anybody confirm this?
Thanks in advance,
Rudy
