I would recommend testing Samba 3.0.21b first. But if the bug is still present, then.... If you can reproduce the failure on demand, then rebuild Samba to include --enable-debug to configure. Then run smbd -d 10 -i under gdb and connect from smbclient as the problematic user. When smbd crashes, run 'bt' get to a full stack trace from the crash. Then please file a bug report at https://bugzilla.samba.org/ and include the stack trace, server OS version, Samba version, and any other relevant info.
