i built a samba/ldap pdc.
i have the same 'net groupmap list' as holger wesser.
it was made by a 'net rpc vampire' because i have to migrate from an NT4
domain. so if i understand well, 'net rpc vampire' creates unix groups
with blank spaces but shouldnt ?
unix groups are at the right of the groupmap list ? exact ?
Do i have to correct unix groups in the ldap base and put underscores in
place of blank spaces to avoid problems like not being able to edit
groups with usrmgr ?
If i correct 'Domain admins' to domain_admins, shall i change my
smb.conf ? valid users = "@Domain Admins" would become valid users =
domain_users ? shall i put unix groups or samba groups in smb.conf ?
thanks
elh
ps: groups with french accents are not imported by 'net rpc vampire', it
fails.

Nope, these should be unix groups..
afaik, unix groups don't allow 'space' in there names...
so 'Domain Users' will not work, 'domain_users' would..
dunno..

'net groupmap list' shows (an extract):

this seems to be okay, don't it?

what do you see with the 'net groupmap list' command..
maybe you need to map them manually, (net group add .....)
coz' this became the default behavior for the 3.0.23 version...

Hi there,
I'm running Debian Sarge with the sernet-packages of Samba. Yesterday I
updated from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23. When I start the usrmgr.exe, I still are
able to modify users but I cannot see/modify groups anymore.
Where could I start to find the problem?
Thanks.
