        It will depend on different points. Samba Version, Windows
version, resources used and other minor configurations.

        I remember in the early version of Samba 3, when we are
joining Windows XP to the DOMAIN, we have to disable some registry
keys, but different version of windows, with different languages
or different services pack (bug fixes) applied have different
register keys, and a lot of client ending up joining the network
without the need to change the registry keys.

        I would strong recommend that you test the upgrade path to
be sure, and also check Samba last version and development version
for reported bugs or info about Windows 2003.

        If you are already using AD, I can't see big problems, but,
we are speaking about "Active Directory". :-)
