I am running CentOS 4.4 with kernel 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp, with samba 3.0.23c ( http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/Fedora/SRPMS/samba-3.0.23c-4.src.rpm ). It appears that smbmount and smbtar do not authenticate properly, while mount -t cifs works. Attached are examples and my smb.conf. Any Ideas? Thanks.
