Only time I have ever seen this was when /etc/nsswitch.conf was misconfigured, and either didn't have winbind in the passwd and group lines, or the method before it was configured to [notfound return] instead of [notfound continue] Is it possible that someone has messed with this file lately, or that the libnss_winbindd library (or the link to it) has broken?
Don ----- Original Message ---- From: Donald N Kenepp <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: samba@lists.samba.org Sent: Wednesday, February 7, 2007 4:05:07 PM Subject: [Samba] wbinfo works, getent doesn't Hi All, I have an NT 4 domain with multiple samba servers. One of my samba fileservers stopped allowing domain login requests. While it can enumerate the domain users with wbinfo -u, and the domain groups with wbinfo -g, getent passwd does not list the domain users. All the other servers in the domain are fine. Any suggestions for how to track down this error?
