I think the technical term for that is "explorer belch". I normally
don't run Sambar on my work machine but I see things disappear too,
normally from a process intensive act like burning a CD or forcing a
program to install or logging on too fast - you know, stuff with
nothing in common :-)
Kidding aside, it is something that doesn't agree with explorer.exe,
could be anything.

Subject: [sambar] Curious problem... {01}
Hi, this isnt directly to do with sambar - as such..
but - at home & here, I have similar problems.
When i boot-up my PC, the sambar server automatically runs / instals
etc.. & sits in my task-bar (i think - Bottom-right corner of screen
_ I keep forgetting the name of that section of the pc screen)
Anyway, now, I have 'closed' the screen, So its not showing where the
"minimized" programme files are shown.. - & it usually appears in a
small box in my task-bar - which i can open - if i want to look at
it..
However, now - I want to look at it to see how much traffic there is,
& its totally dissapreared, If i ask the Windows 2000 system to show
me what tasks etc are running, It does - & sambar is NOT listed -
anywhere...
although, I know its active / running, as I can browse the CGI / HTML
files fine - with no problems in the browser..
Has anyone experienced this ? & how to make the computer re-diusplay
the missing files in the taskbar ? (bottom right of screen)..
PS - I know i can just go to the directory & find the logs if i want
to - But im just curious if other people have this weird situation - I
have it on seperate programmes / files - 3-4 times a week - On my
work, & home systems.. - win2000, win98
