Is the chat facility a Java applet like the Yahoo! games are? If so, it is very likely other ports are being used. To test, open a chat session and then execute "netstat -a" (without quotes) from a command prompt. Then look for the chat connection and take note of it's port. You would then need to proxy this port as well so the clients can communicate via it.

Subject: [sambar] Proxy to enable chat {01}
I have Sambar proxy enabled so that my family can access the Internet from different clients. However, they are unable to get the chat feature to work at YahooGroups. The chat feature works fine from the PC that serves Sambar and there is a direct connection to the Internet. I thought it might have been the firewall, but chat does not work even with the firewall down. Any ideas?
