The people involved really only want to give internet access to a couple of 
pc's and maybe develop some sort of intranet down the track.
It would be a minimal traffic situation proxied by Sambar and as a say, 
maybe they will set up a internal information site for their members if 
there is a perceived need.

Unfortunately they run a very old inventory management system that for some 
unknown reason will not run on W98.  I was thinking that W2K or XP would be 
less likely to be compatible.  Maybe it is time for a change of OS AND 
inventory software too, but first I'll have a go at upgrading to the later 
version of Winsock as suggested by Dino.
