Ray,

Dino's post is correct - you need to download and install WinSock2.  Since 
Sambar 4.4 Beta 1, WinSock2 has been a requirement.  I did find this 
requirement in the documentation, however a search of my Sambar e-mail 
archive turned up the following post from May 26, 2000:
