I had the same problem with SWBELL. I ended up buying an SMC router that Microcenter had on sale, for 20 bucks, It automatically reconnects when the line is dropped. The only problem is that you can't set the time between re-trys so occasionally about once a month I have to do a manual reset on it because the line was dropped and down for too long. Also enternet300 has a couple of options. I believe one is reconnect and the other is persistent connections. I apologize if this is not correct, I haven't used enternet300 since I got the router, Since ppoe is built in to it, good luck.
