XP does support NetBEUI, you have to download it from MS's site though.
And definitely agree on the server class machine.

I would reccommend either NT or Windows 2000 Server. XP also does not
support NETBEUI protocol so that can make supporting some printers
difficult if not impossible. A real "Server" class machine is the way to
go especially when your reputation will be on the line.
