I found out, the hard way, that if you have enabled Sambar dbms functionality, and then turn trace ON for an ODBC system data sources, the performance of the Sambar Server will all of a sudden begin to degrade. The ODBC trace log file ended up being quite large. Luckily, I also had the Sambar network I/O performance turned ON (trace performance=true). At one point in the day, the Network I/O Performance log page began showing over 600 Kbytes read or write over several consecutive hours. I attribute this to the point at which the ODBC trace log file exceeded 5 megs.
I had ODBC trace turned ON because I was trying to monitor why I was getting an ODBC error message "system resources exceeded". I am still waiting to see this error message pop up again.
