OK I need help. I moved from my main machine to a back up while I service the main.
Everything appears to work ok, except for the following, when the machine try's to auto start or I try to manually start ntview.exe I get the following failure: "Failure connecting to sambar server NT service". Also if I make a configuration change I have to manually stop the service in the control panel and restart it. The restart link hangs up the machine. ?????? Nothing I have tried has fixed the problem. I can't move back to the main machine because I am having misc. "Blue screens of death" Probably due to a failing drive. But it is working ok as a server, I have had several people check it and it is serving up the public and private pages and the FTP works. (as well as 2 additional domains and their directories) ------- The main machine is a Dual 266 Pentium processor running NT 4.0 SP6 Multiple drives and scsii interface, with several scsii devices. this machine runs the authentication client, the Sambar 5.0 web server, the arogsoft mail server, file and data storage. The backup is a Pentium 200 Pro Single processor running NT 4.0 SP6 three IDE drives and a CD rom. Nothing fancy, No other functions except Web Server and Argosoft mail server. I installed 5.2 and moved all the files, and recreated the config on the new machine, ( I did not copy the configs, I recreated them by hand) Anybody got any suggestions.
