I see the form in the stm files has MAXLENGTH=40 set for the fields where directory
path info is entered. So, is there a 40 character limit in the Samber system
internals?
I don't want to mess things up.

You can edit the newuser.stm and upduser.stm.
These files are inside /sysadmin/usermgmt/
