You need to 1) update the server port to 8080, 2) update your vhosts to include the port number, and 3) restart the server. Off the top of my head, I can not tell you where to do this in the GUI - I usually just edit the files by hand.
/config/config.ini [server] HTTP Port = 8080
/config/vhosts.ini [host.domain.com:8080]

I sure could use some help setting up sambar on a different port than port 80. I had to change to a cable isp from a dsl and now port 80 is blocked to incomming traffic. Can anyone tell me how many things need to be changed in sambar to run on port 8080? I kind of figured that the server port needs to be changed, and :8080 attached to the end of the file in the docs directory. Am I way off track here? What else should I change or not change? I am using an outside service to redirect the Url to my ip with the new port. I know that there must be lots of you folks out there who do this very thing and find it a no-brainer.
