very personal reasons: - it does all I need and more. (and what it doesn't do, it doesn't do YET) - its very, very easy to handle - one user base for http/mail/ftp, etc out of the box - great in many situations - you can closely participate in its developement by suggesting features, reporting bugs, etc. - good security (when I compare to other products out there, Sambar has alwayy been rock solid) - VERY secure scripting engine - built in search engine - the developer puts great effort in making it better. - its great to deal with one developer instead of thousands. - last but not least: experienced, helpful user base which gives it all a family feeling. both servers do their job real well. Apache offers a few nice extras for bigger sites, Sambar gives you great value for the $99 if you need all the bells & whistles. As usual, it always depends what you plan to do with it...
