Chris About a year ago the same thing happened to me. A spammer dumped a pile of mail on me and it filed my failure dir. It turned out I has 127.0.0.1 in this line Restrict Relay IPs = and the spammer sent all the mail from loaclhost. It didn't go out because it would not pass auth but it sure kept sambar busy trying.
I suggest you use the relay checker and then work form there. It sounds to me like they used a unknown mailbox or local IP to get the mail in. Geting it out is another matter. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Chris Ranni) To: "sambar List Member" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 23 Jun 2003 21:23:50 +0200 Subject: [sambar] MTA Failures > I put a local domain back in so > > Local Domains is no longer empty..the posting to the failures > directory has stopped but only after I set Maximun Retries to 2 > instead of 1.
