you definately need more retries. What this means is that if for any reason a message 
cannot be sent (connectivity issue, DNS issue, destination mail server failure) then 
it will go into retry.. Many mail servers you try to send to are so busy and may 
require a retry later. By setting this to 1 you don't give anyone, including yourself 
room for error. Don't recall the default but I think it retries every 2 hrs.. so if 
you set it to 12 it will try 12 times every 2 hrs (24hrs).. Then and only then would 
it go to failures.
