Hi Brian,

You can use WebDNA Developer Edition to sendmail. It has a built in emailer program. You can download it for free from download.com or http://webdna.smithmicro.com.
I posted installation instructions so they should be in the archives. If you need any help, just send me a note off-list and I would be happy to assist.

Am running Sambar Pro on an NT system, behind a firewall (typical ports for

I am running software that is configurable to send out email notifications
to ...me... when people post messages (it is a small school site, and I am
running a php/MySQL setup for courses etc.). I don't need to receive mail
on the Sambar server, but I do need to send mail (and have no other access,
any more, to an external smtp server.

I have been working with Sambar now since 1996 or so... but am not very
proficient on more advanced features. I understand (correctly?) that I
should be able to configure the server so that it at least sends email
through its built in MTA/SMTP setup *IF* I configure it properly...

A further twist is that my address is myaddress.school.system.edu (rather
than myaddress.system.edu or myaddress.edu ) so I am not sure if this will
be configurable in the sambar setup, where it asks for my domain name.

I would appreciate any words of encouragement and/or assistance here...

Brian
