I've studied Sonya's virus checker and I was wondering if there is a way to adapt it to the Grisoft free AV (www.grisoft.com) I'm frugal, (my wife says I'm cheap) but I think it would be way cool if it could be adapted to this free AV. I've been using it for several years now and it works great. It is even recommended quite often by tech TV and others.
It comes with a similar program called avgscan.exe that is similar to the one in Sonya's anti-virus program. (I am assuming that Sonya's is the McAfee variant) It is a command line scanner that works very similar. I'd do the work if someone could sort of point me in the right direction. I don't quite understand how Sonya is accessing the incoming e-mail to scan it.. It would be great if there was an interface that easily allowed the incoming messages to be scanned by 3rd party software for viruses or spam or ?? before it was passed on to it's destination. IMHO, if Tod could address the spam and virus checking aspects of the mail server, it would be hands down better then anything else out there... It this planned for version 6?
