I have been using perl 5.8 from Active State for a while without any problems - you can get it here: http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/
I needed it for running scripts like YaBB, that can't run on the perl installation, that comes with Sambar. I have a perl installation outside my Sambar folder, so it don't change when I update Sambar. If you can't find a way to update your scripts to 5.8, then you can make a perl 5.3 installation outside Sambar. That way you can use perl 5.3 and Sambar 6.0. If you can't find a full perl 5.3 any where, maybe you can just use the perl file from your older Sambar installation. Hope this will work for you both - Sambar 6.0 is realy a great update - if you ask me :) Claus On 26/Dec/2003 08:16:17, longv wrote: > >While on Sambar 5.3, I had trouble using perl 5.8 on a couple of old > >scripts, so I went back perl 5.6.
