Personally our theory on Proxies is dont use them unless you or your customer needs
control of what people can get to. Our preference is NAT in which ICS performs. This
eliminates all the hassles of opening up ports and what not. Personally ICS is bottom
of the barrel but it depends on who and what this is for. We recommend and use
Winroute pro for NAT on all our client networks that need internet access. It has
proven the perfect product for NAT, PAT, DHCP, DNS caching and even managing dial-up
and encryption tunnels. Mind you, its not FREE.
