I am trying to set up MS messenger to transfer and receive files
using a Lan computer that is connected to the Internet through
Sambar. Messenger works fine using Socks. But when trying to
transfer a file, the attempt fails.

Messenger uses a different port to send and receive files
(starting at port 6891). I have tried setting up the TCP proxy
configuration in Sambar on this port, but Sambar requires a
server name. My settings that I tried looked like this:
6891 msgr-ns41.msgr.hotmail.com: 6891

The problem with this is that Messenger uses a different server,
so the msgr-ns41 might be different the next time I try to send or
receive a file.

My question is: is there a way to set up the proxy to allow
access to this port? Or has anyone else figured out how to make
Messenger work in sending files through Sambar?

Jim
