However, for scans via a network connection, it might work via the escl backend. Alternatively, you could use the separately maintained airscan backend, available at https://github.com/alexpevzner/sane-airscan Note that both backends assume the device uses the eSCL (aka AirScan or AirPrint scanning) protocol. @yu-stas Is there any chance this device might (be made to) work with the ricoh2 backend?
