After update, can you send me the log :
SANE_DEBUG_ESCL=255 scanimage -T 2> toto.txt

Hi Thierry and Alexander, and thanks for the quick replies.

30 minutes after I posted to this list, the computer (or the monitor=) broke...
I suddenly got "no signal" on the monitor, but the box still works (I
can ssh into it).

So now I have to figure out first what broke, and how to replace it
:-( I will be able to test your suggestions andreport only after this
is solved, one way or another, but to gain time, here is a question:

What you suggested is clear, but it is two different / independent
things, or so they seem to me. So what is your advice? Should I do
only one and the othe other only if the first fails? If yes, in which order?
Or both?

Thanks,
(hoping to come back soon...)

Hi Marco,

ipp-usb works better than ippusbxd.
sane-airscan and sane-escl are two free alternatives.
imagescan is the official epson driver for your device.
To my knowledge all 3 work.
