OK. Typically USB drivers got broken due to the conflict with ipp-usb on
devices that support this protocol, but there are may be other reasons
for hplip to break.
You may try to install ipp-usb, it will enable sane-airscan on HP
ScanJet Pro 2000.
If HP LaserJet Pro M402dn doesn't support IPP over USB, it will not be
affected. If M402dn does support IPP over USB, there is a good chance
that it will work driverlessly as well, and you will not need hplip, or
you may explicitly blacklist it in the ipp-usb configuration.
