I am not sure that I understand your question correctly. The evidently simplest way of making your scanner produce music is to change the y-speed rhythmically. My HP 6200C has got a considerable repertoire of sounds, from an angry growling to a piercing whistling. It might indeed be a good idea to write a song for it. :-)
