Hello I have a HP scanjet and I used the backend from cyberbaladeur.fr
and the scanner works almost fine but it only scans a small area about
145mm X 200mm instead of 220mm X 300mm which I would have expected it to be.
I'm wondering is there a config file or something that needs to be fixed
or could it be a bug in the backend. and preferably if somebody nows a
workaround for this.
It doesn matter wether I use xsane or scanimage the image is just as
small. and the preview is just as small its' like the scanner thinks
its' only this small

Thanks alot

Subject: [sane-devel] Xerox Workcentre PE16 and Samsung driver.
Message-ID: <43749aac.8010...@cro-rct.ru>

Hello all (and the Moderator).

In accordance with
http://www.sane-project.org/unsupported/xerox-workcentre-pe16.html , I
tried to use the Xerox PE16 machine with Samsung propietary backend.

The result is really funny: Samsung backend recognizes this device as
"SAMSUNG WorkCentre PE16" flatbed scanner. Note the combined correct
device name and wrong vendor name.

The further step fails for very natural reason:

sane_open - device name "SAMSUNG WorkCentre PE16 on USB:0"cannot open!

Yes, of course: USB:0 is "Xerox WorkCentre PE16", not "SAMSUNG... ".

Any ideas? How can I rename an USB device?

Just a note: Samsung "mfp" kernel drivers should neither be installed
nor work: these drivers are for LPT connection only.
