Bummer, that. I did find your recommendation for certain "dumb" chipsets (GT* and/or Genesys in particular). On the supported scanners list, I see that the HP ScanJet 2300c has "complete" support and USB2. This sounds ideal to me. In your opinion, is it a good hacking candidate?
