Yes, it is unfortunately still needed. libv4l1 maps VIDEO_PALETTE_RGB24 to V4L2_PIX_FMT_BGR24. I tried to fix libv4l1, but was told this is legacy behaviour that cannot be changed. See the following thread: http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-media at vger.kernel.org/msg23436.html Thanks, Marc.
