Hi Art, For your scanner you need to use SANE's Development (git) Version: http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA
The ADF is buggy. If you still want to test your device, please install SANE 1.0.25git as described in README.linux: http://www.sane-project.org/docs.html. For debugging, please disable WiFi and disconnect Ethernet from your device, use USB only!!! If you start the frontend on a terminal, you can enable debug messages with SANE_DEBUG_PIXMA=n. Please read 'man sane-pixma' for details. If you can reproduce any problems, please send me your log files.
