Location : San Jose, CA Start Date : ASAP Duration : 6 months Project Description Project Manages global content rollout workflows, including scope, requirements, timelines for translation, implementation, documentation and web development Supports global web sites from a technical and process documentation standpoint Manages globalization and localization tools based on Translation Memory and translation workflow Job Description Project manager responsible for global web rollouts. The candidate will be developing and enforcing workflows and documentation around corporate design, creation, publishing and maintenance of externally-facing global company web sites, including internationalization, localization and overall functionality. Initiate workflow for technical development of web-based campaigns in multiple languages, coordinating corporate, theater and in-country resources. Participate in the development, assessment, implementation and communication processes to appropriate stakeholders, i.e. clients, vendors, as well as in-country resources, in close collaboration with the Program Manager. Manages content and graphics localization processes. Provides light technical training, documentation and assistance to educate internal teams and company resources on the use and benefits of various internationalization tools such as Translation Workflows, Terminology Database and Translation Memory. Tracks own progress, overall adoption, implementation, and web metrics. Requires knowledge of commercial internet/web publishing tools, translation infrastructure tools, as well as protocols and guidelines. Primary Responsibilities: Global Content Management Responsible to support globalization of major targeted web-based campaigns from a technical standpoint; establish partnerships along with the authoring, editing and publishing communities; documents projects and objectives; drive creation web templates; gathers and centralizes technical documentation and guidelines; develop internal tools to make documentation available to the global community (wiki, internal site, etc); tracks country adoption of site assets; manages translation implementation; tracking and web metrics; handles maintenance of search dictionaries; contributes to ad-hoc global technical support Supports team in rolling out international content to global web sites; manages language dictionaries; handles maintenance of search dictionaries; works with team to set up home page news syndication feeds; manages and promotes localization tool; contributes to ad-hoc global technical support Primary tasks: Manages translation infrastructure tools (translation workflow management, translation memory, terminology database) Maintenance of web sites including initial creation, publishing & ongoing support Project manages global launches including Flagship, product and brand campaigns, home page redesigns, migrations, etc Supports local teams in identifying objectives; metrics and success criteria of global launches; content to be localized; templates Educates internal team and company resources on the use and benefits of various tools (Spotlights Generator; Banner Ad Tool) and processes Activities related to the development of localization data (search dictionaries; resource bundles; technical documentation; training material; etc) Contributes to streamlining publishing processes by using overall knowledge of internal site and appropriate tools Quality Assurance; documentation and guidelines; collaboration tools and platform (wiki, internal site, etc) Requirements: Candidate must have 2+ years of web experience with a strong project management component. Must have 1+ year of internationalization, globalization, localization and translation project management experience with a primary focus on web. Candidate must have strong communication skills. Working knowledge of translation management solutions, translation memory and terminology database. Working knowledge of several web editors (Dreamweaver, Homesite, etc.) as well as graphics applications such as Photoshop. Individual must be able to troubleshoot technical problems as well as use technical support system.
