Desired Skills: * Knowledge of C#, XML and data sourcing, and experience with data conversions are all a plus. * Experience with VLDBs (Very Large Databases). Essential Functions: * Work with a team of DBAs to manage over 8 TB of data in a 24/7 Production environment * Design/Support highly flexible, scalable, 24/7, high-performance database implementations and automated data loading processes using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft DTS, and C#. * Responsible for providing technical supervision over all Production Database Builds and ensuring that all required procedures are followed * Performance tuning of current production applications. * Provide database metrics that summarize the overall application performance and system health of our production databases. * Provide suggestions for database and process improvement * Assess risk factors and critical path issues. * Primary technical resource for all database production issues that are escalated through application support via email, phone, pager, or mobile phone * Troubleshoot issues, document solutions, communicate with business and technical resources and work toward sustainable solutions. * Collaborate with Project Leader, Lead Developer, Web Developers, Database Developers, and QA to ensure projects are deployed on time and within budget. * Disaster Recovery and maintenance. * Provide database support to web developers. * Submit weekly status reports defining accomplishments, issues, recommendations, and goals for the following week. * Enters time into billing application on a daily basis and submits weekly timesheets * Additional duties as assigned by manager.
