*POSITION TITLE:     Senior Project Manager – Investment Banking Analytics *





There is an opening for a Senior Project Manager within the Investment and
Advisory Division Investment Banking Analytics Program. The job holder will
be responsible for the delivery of a large, complex project within the
overall program, with a focus on the creation of 2 new IB Analytics
components. The successful candidate will be an experienced and capable
Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of delivery of software
projects to agreed quality, time and budget specifications from initiation
through to deployment. The successful candidate will have a proven history
of managing global cross-functional project teams and very strong planning,
communications and relationship-building skills.



The IB Analytics space currently lacks a true platform to address the needs
of our target audience: analysts and associates working on deals.  The new
IB Analytics desktop will create a compelling product offering that
addresses users’ workflow needs unlike any product in the market today.  We
are forging an innovative path based on new technology, allowing us to not
only catch up but, surpass our competitors.  This platform is designed to
embed our products in our users’ workflow, so they depend on us to
effectively and efficiently do their jobs each and every day.

Combination of three desktop applications to make up the proposition:

–          Smart Components: Deal Comparables and Company Comparables

–          Office Integration Tools:  Dynamic charts directly in PowerPoint;
create linkages between Excel models and PowerPoint presentations.

–          Spreadsheet Link: Next generation Excel Add-in that provides
flexible and powerful modeling capabilities.



Job Description – Duties and Responsibilities



?          Define, document and execute a complex software delivery project,
actively participating in all phases of the project.

?          Set up and drive the core formal delivery team to ensure clear
roles and accountability for each deliverable and dependency. Ensure all
groups are aware of project scope, their responsibility for delivering
projects and milestones.  Ensure the right resources are available at the
right time with the right skills.

?          Actively engage with the business segment, vendors, content
sourcing teams, product, development, quality, application support and
operations groups to ensure synchronization and awareness of all plans.

?          Actively manage any off-shore and outsourced development
teams/resources.  Responsible for ensuring end to end project plans are
tightly coupled and deliverables aligned.

?          Proactively identify and manage dependencies from other teams to
ensure confidence in the overall schedule and smooth transition and handoff
to various Thomson Reuters groups.

?          Facilitate a clear communication channel between all internal and
external teams involved in delivery.

?          Create and manage detailed project plans and schedules. Track
progress and actively manage any potential roadblocks or delays to ensure
timely and quality delivery of committed plans.

?          Monitor and report status from each deliverable group to all
relevant parties.  Highlight divergence from scope and adjust where
necessary.  Gain commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if
costs, timescales or resources deviate from agreed tolerances.

?          Participate in project estimations when requested to provide
costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of
each project to be estimated.

?          Establish project milestones that reflect realization of agreed
business benefits within timeframe and budget.

?          Identify and track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues,
changes and dependencies within the schedule.

?          Responsible for project risk management.  Identify, assess,
manage and mitigate project risks to successful project completion.

?          Responsible for project change control.  Ensure the appropriate
solution or budget is presented so that projected business benefits are
realised.  Ensure revisions to the project are agreed with stakeholders and
full impact of changes is understood by stakeholders.

?          Ensure compliance with Thomson Reuters Project Process.  Maintain
project library including all key project documentation.

?          Contribute to the ongoing development of project process, tools
and techniques such that they develop in line with company organisational,
technical and commercial requirements.

?          Perform other assignments as requested by manager.

?          Working remotely or extended office hours may be required to meet
the global team’s needs.

?          Domestic travel may be required.



Job Specification - Experience and Knowledge:



?          A minimum of five plus years (7-10 recommended) project
management experience or an equivalent combination of project management
experience, business experience and education in the financial services
business.

?          Experience managing geographically distributed and
multi-disciplinary project teams.

?          Experience managing software development projects with extensive
communication, risk management, extensive project reporting and project
management tools experience required.

?          Experience creating complete detailed plans for complex projects.

?          Ability to track progress and actively manage end to end project
plan.

?          Strong network with business, product, content, operations &
technology groups.

?          Bachelors Degree required.

?          PMP Certification strongly suggested.

?          Experience in the Investment and Advisory field or cross-asset
content ingestion and delivery projects desirable.



Job Specification - Skills:

Required:

?          Must be capable of managing either a large global program with
many workstreams or several large global projects simultaneously in a
dynamic environment.

?          Very strong verbal and written communication skills, and proven
ability to build and maintain strong relationships at multiple levels of the
organization and with outside vendors.

?          Excellent leadership and team building skills. Strong
presentation skills at core team and senior management level..

?          Very strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational,
negotiation, listening, judgement, analytic ability, and conflict management
skills.

?          Proven implementation skills.

?          Excellent organizational skills.

?          Extensive use of Microsoft Office, Project, Sharepoint and other
project planning tools.



Plus:

?          Experience with Thomson Reuters project management process.

?          Familiarity with or expertise in standard Software Development
Processes & Techniques (CMM, Prince, Agile, RUP etc.)

?          Knowledge of Investment Banking

?          Knowledge of I&A technology strategy as well as commercial and
product architecture a plus.

?          Development with WPF
