Have you built applications in the Cloud and spent most of the time feeling you could have built a better interface? If so, GE's Software Center of Excellence is looking for a talented web application developer to join our UI team. If you enjoy building amazing customer experiences and like to make difficult things look easy this is the opportunity for you As a UI Developer, you will work closely with Designers and Architects to build and shape the public interface of GE's cloud and web offerings. As a UI Developer, you will: Work closely with the architects to realize the product architecture with right design and implementation Provide technical guidance and mentor other developers within the team Act as a member of the Software Center of Excellence, representing the face of high quality design and development practices Develop front-end systems with HTML5, JavaScript, Node.js, Redis and CSS3 Collaborate with system engineers, backend developers and user experience design teams to implement UI solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application *Required Skills * Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering OR in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) OR in Lieu of degree high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Software Development Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA Must be willing to travel Experience working with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, XP), in both small-scale and large-scale development efforts. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. *Desired Skills * Experience using new technologies (such as CSS3, HTML5) preferred Experience in Ajax, JQuery, Java and web services Experience in Web application framework (spring, apache, flex, struts, play framework) Create beautifully responsive, pixel-prefect layouts that are highly useable and perform well You will be relentless in learning; adopting and adapting to bleeding edge technology in order to consistently produce best-in-class work, deploying quality assured, well-tested code to production. Knowledge of and proven experience with agile deployment and rapid application development without compromising quality.
