This effort has added to the day to day work of maintaining DHS/GETS organizational operations. .In order to complete the SCON work and to sustain its present GETS oversight services the Office of Information Technology requires a seasoned Technology Support Engineer to assist in managing vendors, overseeing system flexibility/scalability, tracking maintenance and operational requirements, defining performance measurements and providing liaison support enterprise-wide to other departments in DHS. .This position will report to the DHS Transformation Project Manager in the Office of Information Technology’s Program Services Group. *Job Description* •Manage the technical/hardware aspects of the DHS SCON project being implemented by IBM and AT&T through the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA). •Work with the Program Services Group and the DHS Technical Architect to define the technology support needs for the SCON migration. •Attend meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions relating to this transformation project. •Coordinate work assignments with agency and service provider staff to ensure services are delivered in a timely manner and within budget. •Research hardware and software applications for the purpose of recommending standardized equipment and applications in accordance with the Office of Information Technology goals and ensure the efforts of the GETS service providers are in line with agency strategic direction. •Coordinate planning and requirements gathering for the largest GETS technology project (SCON) for DHS. •Work effectively as part of a dynamic team with common objectives and be accountable as an individual. •Gather information from existing projects, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists the Enterprise Architect in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks. •Assist support and/or project personnel in resolving moderately complex program problems. •Participate in quality assurance activities such assisting with test scripts. •Develop a deep understanding of DHS applications, services, and business objectives. * Minimum Qualifications* •A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a computer/engineering field of study. •A minimum of 3 years of network/web/infrastructure support in a large to complex Unix, Windows and virtual server environment, •5+ years’ experience solving deployment issues with x86 servers, Linux, TCP/IP networking, firewalls, inter-process communication, etc. •Ability to troubleshoot application, hardware/software, and network device issues on the fly with little to no supervision •Strong consulting and problem-solving skills •Excellent spoken and written communication skills •Ability to perform well in the face of tight deadlines and tough technical challenges •Desire to interact directly with customers to achieve customer satisfaction •Ability to rapidly gain in-depth knowledge of business systems and objectives •Strong multi-tasking skills •Skills to effectively engage strategic partners and DHS Offices at all levels, be able to clearly understand business & IT strategy. •Good understanding of IT, software licensing, contracts and engagement terms •Must be a self-starter and a strong team player with a high level of commitment to success •Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs •Ability to express technical concepts in non-technical terms Salary: 40 *Click here to view full job description and apply <http://ejobsville.com/display-job/279108> (Registration not mandatory to apply for this job)* ------------------------------ Best regards, eJobsVille.com - For The Best Tech Jobs In Town -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
