*Job: Lead GIS** Developer
Location: Kansas City

*About the Job
*The successful lead developer will have the opportunity to exercise a
variety of skill sets while supporting application/web development and
system integration projects. Responsibilities will include mentoring,
performing technical/code reviews, finding solutions to technically
challenging elements, and delivering a project/solution from concept through
deployment. Tasks:
- Provide levels of development effort for components or phases of
project.
- Produce or oversee the production of technical requirements,
architecture and design deliverables, development and implementation of
complete solutions.
- Mentor other team members.
- Hands-on development of .NET based applications

*What will be expected from the Lead Application Developer
*The candidate is expected to have 10+ years of experience with the full
lifecycle of developing software following both *Waterfall and
Agile*development methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background
in the .NET environment, experience in Open Source and familiarity with *ArcGIS
and/or* *Google Earth mashups.* They must have the ability to code in Visual
Studio.NET, C#, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, JavaScript, HTML/DHTML/CSS, XML/XSLT
and Open Source languages. Technical expertise will include SQL Server,
Oracle and GIS-related development. It is also important that the candidate
have experience developing database-driven applications. Candidates must
also have experience with object-oriented principles and patterns, services
architectures, systems analysis, software design and effective coding
practices including test-driven development principals and writing unit
tests. Knowledge of spatial data structures also a plus. Additionally, the
candidate should be comfortable working in an environment where teams are
fluid and multi-tasking is common.
A BS Computer Science or related degree is required and an MS Computer
Science or related degree is a plus - MCTS, MCPD, MCA certifications
preferred.
*Beyond technical skills* they must be able to communicate complex ideas and
to design and document projects in a clear, concise way and effectively
communicate & work in a team atmosphere across functional departments. They
should be process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail,
accuracy, and follow-through with the flexibility to perform in an
ever-changing work environment. They should be energetic, driven and
committed to the project’s success while working under tight time
constraints and pressure.
