*Job Role: Technical Operations Lead-Business Operations*

*Location: South San Francisco CA*

*Contract to Hire*


In this role you will work closely with the business leaders, the end user
community, development teams, vendors and service providers to deliver
outstanding operational support for the suite of IT services.  The
Technical Operations Lead will establish and manage a key metrics dashboard
to guide support needs for our business.  This individual may also play
other roles as required to support the launch of new systems or system
extensions, providing project coordination and analysis work to ensure
optimal service delivery.  The successful candidate will be proactive,
outgoing and detail-oriented with excellent problem solving and
written/verbal communication skills.  The Technical Operations Lead will
have excellent customer relationship management skills with a service
minded attitude and ability to translate informatics terminology into
business relevant language and business requests into technical
requirements.



Further responsibilities are:

•               Managing the day-to-day operational support, ensuring that
the services provided meet operational targets as defined in OLAs/SLAs

•               Supports implementation of Maintenance & Enhancement
requests within area of technical expertise, contributes to and executes
implementation plans

•               The management of operations and implementations of changes
and bug fixes related to:

•       non-BusOps applications/tools/services that are used for BusOps
applications (Solr, GSA, Doc2text, Apache, Active Directory etc)

•       Infrastructure (Applications and Database Servers, Databases)

•       gRED business operations application support (e.g. gRED Website
operations, gPubs, other key applications)

•               Where needed, helps to implement application monitoring,
performance tuning, oversees application monitoring and responds and
escalates issues as needed

•               Manages incident and problem management processes as well
as release and configuration management

•               Acts as the initial point of escalation for incident,
problem and change management for the business leads

•               Administers change control procedure and processes. This
includes the management of the change control board and oversight of
approved changes

•               Is well versed in vendor management and can look for new
opportunities to optimize our vendor contracts and relationships

•               Applies complex procedures and defined standards to meet
business, customer and technical requirements and leads others in
resolution of complex problems

•               Collaborate with specialist resources, both onshore and
offshore, addressing technical issues within the domain and provides
detailed analysis of the operations and opportunities for improvement

•               Develops business/technical critical expertise and
train/share team members of tools and techniques

•               Accountable for rollout of new services and enhancements to
existing services

•               Familiar with Statement of Work (SOW) and procurement
processes

•               Tracks problems/issues to resolution with the appropriate
level of follow-up with the project team or user community

•               Collaborate with project teams to help identify solutions
and requirements for new functionalities and performing impact analysis

•               Builds and maintains good working relationships with the
business leads and the user base

•               Monitors services and provides regular service reports to
Informatics and business leads

•               Can take the technical lead on work pertaining to security/
single-sign on, active directory etc.



*Qualifications:*

•               Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in computer
sciences, software engineering or similar

•               5 - 9 years of professional IT experience running high
performing environments in multiple technical and business domains, prior
experience in leading Operations for a set of technology solutions a plus

•               Experience working with an enterprise monitoring solution
to achieve high availability and performance. Thorough understanding of
capacity tuning and planning.

•               Understanding of software deployment release process from
Development to Production.  Understanding of best practices, version
control tools, rollback, etc.

•               Strong ability to communication and collaboration between
software developers, vendors and IT professionals

•               Practitioner of ITIL, with ITIL Foundation Certificate and
ITIL Managers Certificate a plus

•               Experience supporting the following technologies: java web
platform, CMS, identity management, ldap, SSO

•               Experience working with SQL (MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL
(MongoDB) database technologies.

•               Experience working with standard web technologies (HTML,
CSS, PHP)

•               Ability to be innovative, give suggestions on alternative
solutions, best practices and industry standards

•               Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus

•               Fluent English skills (written and spoken)
