Looking forward to hear from you... *Role: Quality Assurance Consultant Location: Austin, TX* *Duration: 7+ Months* *Rate: $/hr on C2C All Incl.* *Interview: Phone + In-person* *F2F REQUIRED - LOCALS PLEASE!!!* *Summary:* Perform complex System Analyst work within the Quality Assurance Team as a Software Tester and Quality Analyst. Assist the Quality Assurance Team in translating requirements into test cases to provide traceability and analyzing the results of system and integrated Testing to ensure business and functional requirements are met. Assist Quality Assurance Team with various testing as needed. Work is performed under general supervision of QA lead with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment within the parameters of established policies and procedures. *Responsibilities:* - Assist QA Lead in creating comprehensive test plans and test strategies based on development and software requirements. Perform writing and executing of manual test cases. - Advance the software testing process through development and execution of test scenarios; and execute the functional, system and regression testing of proprietary and custom software. - Create automation test scripts using descriptive programming in QTP and enhance current automation framework to make it more robust. - Develop Test scenarios using QC and create and maintain traceability using the tool. - Perform back end testing by creating and executing database queries. - Report and track defects, verify fixes, and perform follow-up activities to ensure that issues are resolved. - Help create and track test metrics for project reporting purposes. Provide verbal updates and status, communicating progress through the generation of test reports, performing risk analysis, and reporting status of testing coverage and testing progress and issues. - Contribute to, define, and implement the agency’s quality assurance processes and methodologies. - Analyze and evaluate requirements, specifications and design documents for quality defects. - Participate in design specification and technical document reviews. - Perform other duties as assigned. *WORKER SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:* *Requirements:* - 6+ years of hands on Quality Assurance and Quality Control testing experience. - Strong automated testing experience using QTP/VB script, descriptive programming (scripts from scratch). - Strong admin skills and experience using all the QC modules. - Strong knowledge of database table structure and queries. Able to create complex joined/nested SQL queries "from scratch" and correctly evaluate their outcomes. - Must be able to write their own functions / re-usable actions that will be used across all application suites. - Strong prioritization and organizational skills with attention to detail and quality. - Strong IT Technical writing skills. - Working experience in the Systems development lifecycle, such as Waterfall and Agile environment. - Experience and knowledge of build deployments and software configuration Management. - Strong grasp of functional and integration software testing techniques. - Fluent proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Word. - Excellent communications skills. - Active team player. - Demonstrated experience in performing above stated responsibilities. *Required technologies:* - Skill in the use of Quality Center 11.0; - Quick Test Professional 11, 10, 9.5, 9.2; - Scripting Languages. - SQL; Oracle DB2. - Advanced use of Microsoft Word and Excel. *Preferred Skills:* - Experience with HP Application Lifecycle Management (HP ALM). - Experience with Section 508. *Preferred technologies:* - Web logic; - Load Runner, - Test Director; - Defect Management Tools, - Crystal Reports 9.0, - Oracle Reports, - VB Data Reports.
