*Title :Sr DB2 DBA* *Location: Owings Mills MD * *Duration: 6 months* JD:- The DB2 DBA is an expert in database architecture, infrastructure, security and integration. They possess strong technical skills to provide leadership and best practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining an efficient, secure, and reliable database infrastructure for many complex systems. This person possesses a thorough understanding of client’s business functions and systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for analysis, modeling, administration and integration as it relates to the business requirements for transactional and data warehousing purposes. T he Database Architect participates in strategic planning efforts in line with our Database Strategy. Additional Job Details: This position is to provide database administration support of application databases working on development & infrastructure projects, and providing production support of the DB2 z/OS Mainframe environment. Support of COBOL, Informatica ETL, Websphere, and warehouse applications using DB2 as database component. Successful candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience as a DB2 DBA - Mainframe as well as working knowledge and experience with 1. Computer Associates - Database Administration Tools & Utilities (i.e. FastCopy, Detector, RC-Query, RC-Migrator, Subsystem Analyzer) 2. SQL Performance Tuning including SQL rewirte, index design, and support of application development projects for optimal query performance. 3. Proficiency in object maintenance including capacity planning - partitioning, reorgs of large objects. Preferred Experience includes use of 1. ASG-TMON Monitors - 3+ years 2. IBM-Optim Product Suite (Move-DB2) - 3+ years 3. Knowledge of Bufferpool Tuning (Responsive Systems or other vendor) Heavy emphasis is placed on customer service to developers and matrix leads/managers. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written required. Problem resolution and troubleshooting skills required.
