Duration: 6 months Contract **Will sell phone/Skype hire** *Job Description:* currently seeking a Data Modeler to create and maintain logical and physical data models representing business Subject Areas and Enterprise Views of the organization, based on the Enterprise Data Architecture. these models are managed in contemporary data modeling tools in order to represent the real world view of the information business users need to conduct activities and inform development and maintenance of data management systems. This role works closely with the Enterprise Data Architect and the Enterprise Architecture team as well as Business Analysts and project teams working on business-enabling systems. *Core responsibilities:* 1. Creates, extends and maintains logical entity relationship models using contemporary data modeling tools and technologies such as CA Erwin. 2. Conducts data analysis to insure alignment between business capabilities and the data models that represent their information content 3. Supports the Enterprise Data Architecture practice by extending and adding detail to Enterprise Models. 4. Develops logical entity relationship diagrams derived from Business Object Models, Conceptual Data Models and business data requirements. 5. Inherits enterprise data requirements and definitions from the Enterprise Information Models for use in projects and data-related initiatives. 6. Supports the Business Relationship Management team by assisting in the definition of data requirements and socializing logical data models. 7. Works with Enterprise Data Architecture to harvest new insights discovered in project and program work that can inform and strengthen the Enterprise Information Models. 8. Leads data model walk-throughs to insure clear understanding across all stakeholders and addresses issues that surface. 9. Works with Solution Architects to provide a consensus-based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs. 10. Ensures that new solutions comply with company technology standards and support the strategic requirements of the business. 11. Maintains knowledge on current and emerging technologies and evaluates the impact new technologies will have on the company in achieving its business objectives. 12. Promotes shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. *Qualifications:* A minimum of five years hands-on data modeling experience with CA Erwin Data Modeler in a production environment is required. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of data management practices and principles. Education should be a BA/BS in Library Science, Music, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience. Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Ability and inclination to work with a diverse team to deliver business value, not just completed tasks. The candidate must demonstrate above average attention to detail, accuracy, organization, interpersonal, critical thinking, and team-oriented skills. Extensive experience in information technology or computer science field is desired. Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification is a plus. Knowledge of the CRO or other regulated industry is a plus. Experience creating canonical data models and XML schemas is also desirable.
