*Please send resume to **s...@cncconsulting.com <s...@cncconsulting.com>* Job Title: SQL server SSIS Specialist Location: Columbia, SC Duration: 8 months Direct Client Position Client: State of SC Rate :$55/hr on C2C The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) has implemented a Data Warehouse and related software components for purposes of tax and revenue compliance and analysis. The Data Warehouse also serves as a primary data source for other business intelligence activities. This work involves proprietary software from Revenue Solutions Inc. (RSI), particularly their Portfolio Warehouse (PW) product. Historically, the Data Warehouse application team has used the proprietary Embarcadero DT/Studio tool, along with custom transform code from RSI, to load data from federal and state data sources into the Data Warehouse. The team is now charged with converting all of the data load processes to use Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). At this time an experienced ETL (Extract, Translate, and Load) specialist with expertise in SSIS is needed to assist in this process. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: The following application tasks are expected to be executed by the Data Warehouse systems software developer ETL specialist. All tasks will involve some degree of up front analysis prior to development or execution, as well as several phases of system and user acceptance testing. These tasks/skills do not include database administration support or technical infrastructure support tasks, as these responsibilities fall under a different support area within the SCDOR IRM organization. • Responsible for building ETLs using SSIS packages to load data from various data sources including files from internal and external data sources. • Setting up and running the proprietary Portfolio Warehouse Associate and Grow (A&G) offline process for data cleansing and matching of these files. This includes configuring the A&G match keys with consultation from the business users and SCDOR Data Warehouse team. • Conduct quality assurance for loaded data. • Creating and executing “views” as required by business users. • Performing database development and utility functions, such as SQL Server Analytical Services for OLAP, T-SQL, stored procedure, SSIS, etc. as needed for loading and analysis of data. SKILLS REQUIRED: The successful candidate will have, at minimum, the following skills: • Experience and expertise in gathering and analyzing business user requirements. • Mid-Level Experience in Java development and/or .NET development. • Experience and expertise in SQL, including development of T/SQL queries, stored procedures and data manipulation. Expert knowledge of databases and relational database concepts. Experience with SQL Server 2005 is desirable; experience with SQL Server 2012-14 is required.. • Experience with Windows 7 operating system and the Windows 2012 server environment. • Experience with Data Warehouse concepts, including the use of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools and creation of data marts. Expertise in SSIS is required. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business users, management, vendors, and peers. • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. Ability to complete assignments on time. • Understanding of deployment methodology concepts including design, build, testing, and deployment. The individual will operate with limited supervision, within standards and processes established for the SCDOR Data Warehouse and over-all Agency and IRM procedures. SCDOR systems include extremely sensitive and confidential information; position requires complete discretion and trustworthiness, as well as knowledge of federal requirements for handling of confidential data.
