Job Title: SAS Location: Washington D.C. Duration: 1+ Year Contract For this role it is important that candidates are strong in Java, with at least 9 years of experience; along with the additional experience listed below: *Duties:* Ensures compatibility between equipment and software, analyzes operational/systems requirements, supports design reviews, and presents technical briefings. Engineers systems, including conducting of prototype, proof of concept, or the full implementation of systems. Evaluates, assesses, documents, and tests data security and continuity of operations for systems and programs. Serves as solutions provider to senior management and professional staff concerning areas of technological development and advancement. *Minimum Qualifications:* · At least nine years experience analyzing requirements from users and producing system specifications developing analysis models using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other data modeling standards. · At least nine years experience with task specified programming languages (e.g., JAVA, C++, C#, etc.). · At least nine years coding experience with SQL or database stored procedures. · At least seven years experience in the design and development of applications. · At least seven years experience in data warehousing, distributed processing, logical and physical database design, software integration, and implementation of security techniques. · At least seven years experience in module or unit testing including executing and documenting the testing. · At least seven years experience in the evaluation or comparison of various technologies (e.g. client/server, multi-tiered architectures, database architectures, and structures, etc.) and their appropriateness for a wide variety of business requirements. · Broad, in-depth knowledge of current network, development and database architectures and technologies. · Experience with Internet/Intranet protocols and web server technologies, if required. · Experience developing systems architectures, if required. · Experience as a technical leader of software engineering or computer professionals, as required. *For positions primarily requiring SAS expertise, the following minimum qualifications replace the default minimum qualifications:* · At least nine years experience performing data manipulation, including text, SAS datasets, and relational database tables. · At least nine years experience writing SAS program source code, including: · Base SAS (e.g., data step processing, functions and call routines, formats/informats). · SAS Macros. · SAS Procedures (e.g., Print, Freq, Univariate, Means, Format, Append, Datasets, Template, Transpose). · Creating SAS reports (Proc Report, Proc Tabulate, ODS System). · SAS Access to different products (e.g., Sybase, Oracle, PC Files), as required. · SAS SQL, as required. · AppDev Studio, Integration Technologies, and Enterprise Guide, as required. · Management Console, including Metadata and Workspace Servers, as required. · At least seven years experience with at least one relational database (e.g., Oracle, etc.). · At least seven years experience gathering and analyzing requirements, and designing and developing applications in SAS. · At least seven years experience in system testing, including planning, executing, developing test data, and documenting the testing. · At least seven years experience in module or unit testing, including executing and documenting the testing. · At least five years experience with at least one development methodology. · At least five years experience in the analysis of applications or multi-module systems. · At least four years experience in data modeling, data warehousing, distributed processing, utilization of tools for data modeling and logical and physical database design, software integration and/or security issues and techniques as required. · At least three years experience producing program specifications. · At least three years experience translating design specifications into computer program instructions, preparing test plans, and conducting tests. · Experience as a technical team leader of other programmers and/or analysts.
